New Hampshire
George Washington himself led troops to battle in New Hampshire, and the sacred land there continues to teach generations of Americans about the contributions of patriotic Granite Staters from the days of organized militias to today’s specialized drone operators and naval experts guarding our coastline. Although its geography is small, New Hampshire has a heart the size of a giant, and it shows with each military conflict and the respect the state shows its veteran community.
The first year that the state of New Hampshire’s Office of the Secretary of State offered a Vote in Honor of a Veteran program was 2024. And it continues!
This patriotic initiative invites New Hampshire voters to post tributes to the brave men and women in uniform who fought for our nation and who have – for centuries – protected our right to vote.
“New Hampshire enjoys free and transparent elections thanks, in large part, to the sacrifices of our Veterans and service members,” said Secretary of State David Scanlan. “We’re pleased to officially vote in their honor and encourage New Hampshire voters to do the same.”
Participants are invited to post their tributes and in return they will receive a “Vote in Honor of a Veteran” lapel pin designed by Navy veteran Jacob Aldridge.
